My name is Monette, I am working as a Registered Nurse in the hospital and my husband Yves, works at a shipping company. I am a retail manager for a small business here in NZ who has recently acquired residency. I have known Future Secure Financial Services through a friend.

I have always seen insurances as personal investments, as a means of protection for the unforeseeable future. For me personal risk insurance is securing a solution to a possible conflict in the future that pertains to my ability to provide for the people I love.

Growing up, my parents had insurances, even until now. They even enrolled me and my siblings in different health and educational insurances when we were younger. Somehow, having those insurances protected us in certain ways like having enough money to continue studying or getting the money back when the policy matured. Hence, I have a good level of trust in having an insurance because it worked in my case. I personally wanted personal risk insurance because if something happened to me, I don't want to be a burden to the people I love.

I met Kathy at our previous educational institution, Toi Ohomai in Rotorua. Aside from becoming a good friend, I know that Kathy has extensive experience in sales as she was a top medical representative for a multinational company in the Philippines. So when she discussed the products she offers for my personal risk insurance, I felt she was knowledgeable and had the skill to analyze my situation and the questions I raised.

I joined Asteron Life in June 2017, encouraged by my husband who was already a policyholder. At first, I was hesitant, mainly due to financial concerns and doubts about needing life insurance. But my husband reminded me it’s about peace of mind, and Sis Clarice also advised that it could help with future plans, like buying a home.

Almost 8 years later, by God’s grace, we managed to keep up with our premiums despite life’s financial demands. Recently, we were pre-approved to buy our first home, an exciting milestone. And later, we officially became a HOME OWNER. However, around the same time, I began experiencing severe symptoms. After tests and a referral, I was diagnosed with Stage 1A cancer. It was a difficult time, but I thank GOD it was caught early, and the surgery was a success.

Soon after, Sis Clarice reached out for a policy review. When she learned about my diagnosis, she informed us we could file a trauma claim. With her constant support and follow-up, we submitted the claim, without expecting much. To our surprise, on August 13, 2025, she called to tell us the claim was approved and the funds were on their way.

This experience taught me how valuable Life insurance really is, not just for peace of mind, but for real, timely support. It also reminded me how important it is to review your policy as life changes.
